"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn."

When I hear this I think of little children. How do you teach children? By involving them, doing hands on activities, reminding them many times.

"A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed up by action makes your dreams come true."

I don't know about you but I want all my dreams to come true.  I've started writing down goals and making a plan and I can tell a huge difference on what I accomplish throughout the day.

You Are Destined For Greatness

You are beautiful, smart, talented and deserve everything the world has to offer.  YOU are destined for greatness.

"Women are angels and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly, on a broomstick, we are flexible like that"

Women learn to be flexible between kids, spouses and life in general.  I guess we learned flexibility to the next level (;

"Reach as high as you can, and then reach a little higher. There you will find magic and possiblity. And maybe even cookies."

Dreams only happen as work towards them, stretch yourself and reach high.  It is just an extra bonus for some delicious cookies!

"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as you'll die today"

I love this quote! Anytime I hear it the Nickelback song "If today was your last day" plays in my head. Every day is worth living.  So what will you do today too make it worth it?

"Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears"

Many of us worry and live in fear of failing. But in order to follow your dreams you have to take a risk and change your life... For the better.

8 Things Couples Should Do Every Day to Keep a Happy Marriage- From a couple married 46 years

As a kid I thought about who I was going to marry and what married life would be like.  But as I got older I realized, serious relationships can be a lot of work (but of course is well worth it).  I decided to interview a couple who has been married for 46 years to get their advice on what they think all couples should do every day to keep their marriage positive and happy.  It has helped me focus more on my marriage and hopefully can help you strengthen yours too.

What Does Marriage Mean To You?

Linda said, “Marriage is loving and living with your best friend.  Marriage is having the same goals and working toward them.  Marriage is wanting the best for the other person and helping him/her to be that person.  Marriage is being partners in everything, not one having control over the other one.  Marriage is treating each other with respect.  Marriage is being totally devoted to their spouse.”

Ray said, “Marriage is the sweetest experience that life can offer.”

What Advice Do You Have for Couples to Have A Happy Marriage?

  1. Always be willing to compromise. And that usually means both spouses going more than half way.
  2. Talk things over so each spouse knows what the other one is thinking or feeling.  Never raise your voice unless the house is on fire!
  3. Set goals together.
  4. Be sensitive to the other one’s feelings.
  5. Always kiss each other goodnight.
  6. Never go to bed angry.
  7. Both partners help with the children and the house.
  8. Never criticize the other one in public.  Only praise their good qualities.
These are all simple things we can do every day that can make a big difference on our relationship.

I would love to hear from you

DIY Vision Board and How It Helps Your Reach Your Goals

We all have goals, dreams and visions of what we want to accomplish in our life.  But many of us let our dreams get lost when life gets crazy and we are focusing on too many things.  Today is the day we need to change that so we can catch our old dreams, create new ones and make our dreams a reality.  We need to work together and inspire each other as we all work towards reaching our goals and go from being a dreamer to doer.

Over the past few weeks we have been working together to achieve our dreams.  If you’ve missed the past few posts check out How to Not Let Your Dreams Get Lost in the Clouds HERE.  How to Live Your Dreams Smart HERE, and 10 Tips to Better Time Management HERE so you can continue on our journey from being a dreamer to doer.

Zig Ziglar once said, “You can’t hit a target you cannot see, and you cannot see a target you do not have.”  So first we need to “have our target” or goals.  What dreams do you have for your future?  What smaller goals do you have in place to accomplish these dreams?  If you need help breaking down your dreams into goals HERE is a link that can help you.

Next we need to “see our target”.  Instead of making a list (which is great too!) I decided to create a vision board.  It helps me be able to see exactly what I want to accomplish (in a fun and personal way).  So here is step by step guide how I created mine:

Step 1: Gather Supplies

  • Piece of paper
  • Old magazine (any kind)
  • Scissors
  • Tape or Glue

Step 2:  Cut Out Pictures From Any Magazine
Try to find pictures or headings that make you think of your goals.  I went through the entire “Good Housekeeping” magazine and I was very surprised how many pictures I found!  Try to cut them all out (you can sort them out when you are all done).

Step 3: Sort Through All The Pictures
I found tons of pictures and decided to throw out a few that I didn’t need.  If you don’t have enough, try going through a new magazine.  You can also print things off the internet if you want to include something specific.

Step 4: Tape It All Together

Step 5: Hang Up Your Vision Board
Try to find a place you will see many times a day; bathroom mirror, fridge, your desk, or you could even take a picture of it and make it your home screen on your phone.  Every time you see your vision board, you will have another time to think about your goals throughout the day.

My End Result

I would love to hear and learn from you.  So dreamers, what are your dreams?  Do you think creating a vision board help you think about your goals and inspire you to act on them?  How are you living your dreams right now?
